We seem to moved forward, ETA for 'Milly' is end March so I am guessing build week 11 or 12.

Wow! Those waiting times are unbelievable!

I'm looking at ordering a fabia estate and the dealers are talking about end of feb delivery. Is that very less likely?

Ordered 7th Nov (see post #1270)

10th Dec told B-W 6

10th Jan told B-W 7

Update due tomorrow

If no change to B-W then looking to take delivery during week commencing 10th March - fully 4 months after placing order!

Will come back with update tomorrow if any changes...

Delivery will be quicker if you order "off the shelf", with no extras, as car is probably already sat at a dockside or airfield holding area; three weeks to get it to the dealer and allow time for them to prep the car before delivery to you is about right.

  • 2 weeks later...

Ordered a new vRS yesterday - delivery sometime in March

Options:

Rio Red

Black Wheels

Black Roof

Climate

Cruise

Electric rear windows

3rd rear headrest

Sunglasses holder

Can't wait

Found out today it's due to be built next week, so still looking for delivery in early March all being well :-)

Ordered mine today. Pick up 1st of march on 14plate.

Bizarely we've had a second week lopped off the delivery time. We are not expecting 'Milly' (don't ask) to be delivered in the last week of March.

Probably Skoda having a slowing down of sales and being able to get on with the production of cars people want rather than the models being built that just sit unsold at Dealers.

ie Fabias,

An Example of those that are not shifting as predicted, maybe over priced in the UK for what they are might be Rapids.

But only guessing there.

Update - Was build week 7 (next week) but been told the car has been built and is already on its way!

Looking good for 1st week of March, maybe even the 1st, which would be fantastic.

Hi All

I was recently advised by the dealer that the build week for my new Fabia Elegance Estate which I ordered on 17 January (105 PS 1.2 TSI, Corrida Red, Elba alloys, Sports suspension, Electric rear windows, Storage boxes under the seats, Black protective body side mouldings) would be in early April (Week 15). So, I wasn't expecting to pick it up until the beginning of May.

Today, I've been told that the build has been brought forward to Week 12 (mid-March). So, I'm hoping that I'll be picking it up in early- to mid-April.

So far, so good.....

UPDATE - Went back to the dealers today to change the colour.  Must have been the right time right place.

Now the car will be here in 3 weeks because it's at the port but also the dealer wants his sales figures for this month so he has offered to pay for the extra’s I didn’t want.

hi we must be lucky as the steel grey according to skoda uk has been discontinued and not replaced i was lucky as they had an estate already in uk in that colour.

I wonder how many steel grey vrs fabias are in the uk? has anyone seen one on the road as i have not.

There are a fair few.

Look at the pictures in the vRS Register & Review and picture thread.

I looked on the vrs reg and most colours were antracite grey, racing blue, candy white, racing green, sprint yellow, pearl black, red, brilliant silver only about three in steel grey asc skoda uk says they did not make many in that colour which is a shame as its bright grey with great sunlight sparkle.

Skoda UK say lots. Often it has nothing to do with the truth or accuracy.

They are not common, but in some parts of the UK, a vRS is not common.  I have seen about 6 vRS today on the road, and cars i have not seen before, not in my local area i mean.

There are enough Grey Mettalic about in Scotland that i see from time to time, they might vary a bit in the shade of Grey but they are Mid Grey Metallic.

Skoda has used enough different names, and sometimes for the same colour.

There were even some around not long after launch when they claimed there were none in the UK.

Phone call from dealer - car be with them next week. Woo-hoo!

hi sk so the new model fabia they say no more vrs models is that right.

That is what the CEO of Skoda announced in August.

no More vRS with a Mk3 Fabia.  People were too tight to buy them.
& That if you want a vRS people will need to buy an Octavia.
& that people want Bodykits, alloys sports seats & cars cheap to run

Show without go. (Paraphrase.)

So they will go big on the Monte Carlo branding.

He said they thought they would sell 3,000 Monte Carlos and they have produced 20,000.
So that will be about 6,000 they shifted in the UK, and it must be 14,000 Rest of World if they sold them all.

Schelde Highway docked at Grimsby today at 11:26, having sailed from Emden, so hopefully my Fabia is now on terra firma and will shortly be making its way up here.

Hi All,

Not been on here in quite some time.  I parted with my MKI VRS a couple of years back and I've been itching to get a MKII.

I took the plunge and ordered one at the weekend, but I was quite happy to wait for a factory build which I'd been quoted online as 12 weeks.  The dealer told me it was quicker than 12 weeks currently but offered me £1,500 discount if I would take a built car for March delivery as they were down on their numbers.  I had the choice of a white hatch, two white estates, or a red estate.  As I'm not following the current white trend I went with the red one which I will pick up at the end of March all being well.  It had the options I wanted such as rear sensors and arm rest, plus some others like rear electric windows, cruise control and chrome alloys, although I am quite wary of those corroding as mentioned on here!

I will post some pics once delivered.

Cheers.

A bit premature...

Dealer 'phoned today to say that, according to SUK, car is "on its way to England".

Two car transporters left Emden this lunchtime; 'Schelde Highway' and 'African Highway', due to arrive tomorrow in Grimsby and Newcastle respectively, so fingers crossed on one of those.

Sadly won't be on the road on the 1st, given it takes the dealer 3-4 days to prep' it for the customer, so looking like a week on Friday - exactly 4 months since placing the order.

Car now confirmed as "in England", but not due at dealers until "sometime next week".

Bah! :dull:

Hi All

Just been advised by the dealer that the build week for my new Fabia (see post #1285) has now gone back to Week 15 (w/c 7 April). So I guess we won't see it until the end of April. Looks like it will be 15 weeks from placing the order. Oh well - could be worse.

Les

Due to collect it from dealer on Monday!

Had a sneek peek today... NOT HAPPY!

Due to an oversight on the part of the dealer, the car has arrived without the "Four spoke leather steering wheel and small leather pack". :@

Apart from that, it looks nice, but that particular fly in the ointment has taken the shine off... they want to talk to me when I get the car on Monday and I don't think I'm going to like what they've got to say.
