how can i remove black spots from my alloys?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Hopefully you will be able to help me. I am getting black spots on the outside of my alloys, I assume it is tar spots or general road stuff but I can't seem to remove it. Does anyone have an idea as to how I can remove them?

Should you not own a big electric toothbrush thing, for regular vRS alloys or (dare I say it!) 17' Spiders, i'd use the dirty remnants of a clay bar (after claying the car) to try and short that crud...

Try looking into Carpro's Iron-X, or Wolfs Brake Duster - both products get rated highly on detailing world.

Would these black spots cause some slight bubbling?

I've got Wolfs Brake Duster...

Wasn't overly impressed to be honest.

You need to get some Autosmart Tar and Glue remover aka Tardis. Melts the stuff away :)

meguiars wheel brightener  dont get it in your eyes tho lol even the slightest bit of spray off stings like hell lol wear sunglasses

To keep them clean and remove brake dust with ease I use Wonder Wheels.

Each year when I do a full clean of them I use T-Cut to get the really embeded stuff off, but don't go too made as it removes the lacquer.

Autoglym Intensive Tar Remover works well for me. Good for wheels and paintwork.
