I am new to this so apologies if thishas already been covered elsewhere.

I have been told that I can't remap my vRS. Apparently there was an 'unhackable' chip fitted for a three month period late '08 and my car has one! Has anyone heard of this?

Is it true or duff info?

Which company said they couldn't remap it?

Where is Shark Performance?

Edited by Latimer

Shark are based in Mansfield. You can contact them on their website, in the sponsors section of the site or PM shark_90 (if you can already). They can crack pretty much all of the different encrypted ECUs that have been fitted to VAG cars and their remaps get excellent reviews.

Seems as if my 09 plate (registered 01/06/09) octy will have to get the ECU removed to be remapped? Wouldnt mind knowing if this is the case aswell as it possibly being locked down?

Good read that.

Yeh, v good read. Sadly it means that I can't get a remap. At the moment anyway. Unless they have cracked the the chip for the octavia vRS yet?

I will wait and hope!!

No the 2.0 TSI is remapable its the 1.2 that is currently under development. Well thats how i see it. Its an ECU out job though
