Lack Of Support For MS Virtual Machine

Featured Replies

BEWARE:

Downloaded and installed the software and tried to run it on my Vista 64 powered desktop.

It threw up an error. So I couldn't even compile a VXD file to run XP.

Initially, I couldn't understand this. The Processor, an Athlon II is AMD-V enabled.

I understand that Microsoft VM can handle 64 bit vista. So what was the problem ?

E-mailed Asus, the motherboard manufacturer and they have responded to the effect that the

board (M4A88MTD-Evo-uSB3) doesn't support Microsoft VM. Great ! - I'll need to clarify with them whether this is

a BIOS or A chipset problem.

So even though the socket accepts a AMD-V capable processor the board electronics can styme this.

There goes another good idea.

Nick.

Is the error "The virtual machine bus is not running"?

If so try changing the vmbus service start from boot to system.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\vmbus]

"Start"=dword:00000001
