How long does a car actually take to put together?

Featured Replies

I'm talking about 'build day' how long does it actually take them to screw a car together excluding things like delivery... just on about 'car goes from thin air to an actual car'

Would guess a week based on people saying they're told three weeks from build date and that two weeks of that is delivery.

Here's a video clip of the A1 production line, amazed at how much of the process is automated.

This is a Fabia being produced in India, in spite of the title

I was told by Skoda UK it takes approx 5 days to build a car from start to finish. Build usually begins on Monday and is ready to roll off the line and onto the transporter on the Friday.

According to a post on the roomster forum it takes 30 hours to build from scratch.

Interesting film on youtube:

For a skoda it takes about a half year.. first they need to make some steel, rubber for the wheels.. and lots of plastics.. to make those parts thats needed..

And when they screw it together there is one man working and 10 watching..

Waiting 24 weeks for my fabia this day today....
