Arrived at uk port

Featured Replies

checked trackmyskoda at 3.15pm and it still said it was at german port ready for shipping, refreshed it 5 minutes later and it now says Arrived a UK port ( fastest cargo ship in the world hee hee) so if this site is roughly 3 days behind the dealers information, i could be getting a call anytime soon, ok starting to get really excited now

Maybe went via a Teleporter rather than a Transporter :D

Take it that means Grimsby, wonder if mine shared the same boat - it's well overdue. The Wesser Highway from Emden, flying the Panama flag, is currently moored in Grimsby - my ship 's probably flying the Skull and Crossbones somewhere in the Caribbean :giggle:

The Wesser and EMS Highways have been to and fro from Grimsby for a few days, African Highway has just arrived in Emden from Portugal and the Main Highway is coming from the Baltic (I think). Note from there positions the EMS and African Highways are moored outside the VW plant :wonder:

Nothing much happening with Sheerness for some time now

yeah i noticed the wesser was there, what bugs me is the fact that more often than not one of the two ships doing the emden to grimsby run moors up somewhere and then switches its locator off so you cant find it untill it sets sail again. the missing ship will either be the schelde highway or ems highway, those 2 along with wesser are the regular runners on that route

Well I hope all goes well with your expectations of delivery..........my vehicle was built week 12 as well and I was expecting it to arrive in the UK this week [according to e-mail from dealer just after it was built]. However on speaking to Skoda UK today it is still in the Port of Endem and is not likely to be delivered for around 2 weeks!! NOT A HAPPY BUNNY!

How do they work out the deliveries? The builds being ad-hoc I can understand, if it depends on components etc., BUT surely once the vehicle is out of the factory they should be able to deliver in an orderly rota. My order is now 26 weeks old today, so it now looks as if I'll be up to 28 weeks, at least, before it "hits" the UK.

As there is no Skoda dealer on the Island I was forced to buy off Island and therefore was not able to secure a P/E on my current vehicle. I worked my sums out but now find that [a] the value of my current vehicle is between £1.5k & £2k less than what it was on the expected delivery date and the cost of the air fare down to London from the Island, and the boat from Liverpool back to the Island with the car have both shot up in price, as we are now into the "holiday period" prices. The £300 goodwill gesture from Skoda won't even cover them!

I seem to remember when all the fuss was going on on the forum re folding wing mirrors etc. that someone had an e-mail address for one of the bosses in Skoda UK. If anyone knows this I would appreciate being given it as I feel I need to lodge my feelings higher up the ladder than the guy I spoke to today [even though he as helpful as he could be].

Right RANT over....Good luck to everyone else waiting their delivery.

Hi manxman,

mine arrived in Emden at the weekend and I assume if your collecting from London then were both waiting for a boat to Sheerness :wonder: However not seen any traffic heading in that direction from Emden in some while. Plenty of Tug activity in the port of Sheerness mind

All traffic appears to be concentrating on Grimsby

Hi Tim

Colin my dealer did say a around Jan time a lot of cars they have had delivered are coming by road from Grimsby. they had some snowed in at the docks but no snow down here, he had to explain that to customers.

Maybe in for a long wait then! The guy at Skoda UK said they would be shipping around 300 vehicles at a time, but didn't say where they would be going to in the UK

Merlinman

Thanks for the info.....will probably send an e-mail tomorrow when I have "composed" " :swear: " my thoughts and myself.

Regards

Tony

From experience - you'll get a courtesy reply from one of his minions and it'll get punted on to one of the outsourced 'Customer Service Advisors' - of course it may well be accompanied by a 'sort it' message - here's hoping?

Noted the Main Highway has arrived at Emden and birthed were I normally associate with the collection of Skoda's; not showing a destination as yet.

You could beat me yet and I really hope your SM is on that Sheerness bound Main Highway. Trouble is, not wishing to be a killjoy, currently they appear to be taking root in Emden for a couple of weeks. My dealer misinformed me by stating is was on the ship. In fact it is still sitting in Emden with the status of 'released for shipping' a status its been in now for the last 10 days. emoticon-0106-crying.gif Hopefully you will have better luck with your Sheerness destination. Now, when does the next Grimsby bound vessel set sail?:dull:

Think the EMS Highway is on route, however from where it was birthed it might be full of VW's :wonder: However the Weser Highway is in the right location in Emden and it's been back and forth to Grimsby like no tomorrow; probably come tomorrow it will be going back again :wonder:

See your 'Ship Of Hope' has offloaded in Sheerness and is nearly back in Emden again. Is it disappointment and back to the pesky ship watching again?

The Weser Highway is currently berthed in Grimsby, perhaps its my lucky one this time :dull:

depends which ships, some carry 750 " items " and some carry 850 but you have to remember there will probably be other manufacturers cars on there aswell

Hi Bassa,

believe it is continued ship spotting  as of this morning the SLi system was still stating port of exit released which I believe means its still in Emden :S

Going by recent history there might not be another ship to Sheerness for over a week :( :( :(

Note the Main Highway is back at the Skoda dock in Emden; just waiting to find out her next port of call :wonder:

Anyway hope the Weser is your ship

The Main Highway is back on its old stomping grounds, due back into Grimsby on Saturday pm. If not the Weser then perhaps.....:dull:

Just wanted to thank Merlinman again for the e-mail address of Mr Hazelwood.

I sent him a nice long e-mail on Monday night and have now received an e-mail acknowledging my correspondence from Will Fisher, who is "investigating my concerns". He apparently also telephoned this afternoon to speak to me, but I was out!

Now it's a case of :wait: and see

Thanks again - at least I have got an instant reaction this time around - not one 10 or so days later and then still waiting for answers to my questions!

Regards

Tony

The eagle has landed, after spending two weeks in Emden it is now finally on UK soil at Grimsby docks.

No more ship watching
