Hi everyone.

With fingers crossed I'll be collecting me new Octy on Monday.

I've had sitting on my desk LED replacements for the two internal light domes and the numberplate lights.

The numberplate lights I'm assuming is nice and straight forward - probably a couple of screws?

Can anyone tell me how I go about removing the internal light domes so I can replace the bulbs with LED's?

I've looked at the domes in my current pre-FL Octy and I cannot see any obvious way of getting inside.

Don't want to break anything on the day I get the car :-)

The clear plastic covers simply pull off the dome lights-get your finger or a coin under the edge of them. The number plate lights are monitored by canbus & may cause problems-I have error free LEDs on my pre-FL but I think the FL ones are different somehow.. :(

Ah - I didn't check to see if the LED's I got would be OK in the FL.

I take it pre-FL numberplate lights aren't monitored by the Canbus?

I purchased them from superskoda - but as I type this I see the description says Octavia II 04 - 08 so maybe they won't work.

I've got those on my FL octy. Just ignore the warning lamp, maxidot tells you what light's affected, so long as it says number plate, i know to ignore :-)

Oh I agree they look good but the error will annoy me.

I'll wait for some that can cope with the FL system

They are - numberplate light bulb failure is detailed as such on the maxidot display, but presumably the monitoring system must differ somehow on FL models.
