Fabia 1.416v 2000 wiring burnt out on battery case?

Featured Replies

Hello once again,

I have recently upgraded the felica to a 2000 1.4 16v Fabia. All has been fine until one of the terminals on the battery case burnt out.

It is wire number two on the studded section. It seems to disapear into the loom going down behind the n/s head light. I have purchased a new battery cover with new fusable links etc and refitted. It did appear to have been quite corroded as well, of course i have replaced the burnt out terminal as well.. Does anyone know of a possible problem with the wiring there? doues anyone know what this wire supplies.

If anyone can shed some light i would be most grateful.

Many thanks,

Clive.

Fuse no2 on the fusebox on the battery according to Haynes is a 110A!!! and is the main fuse wire to supply the "Terminal 30 junction) this leads to the fuse box in the passenger compartment. B)

Hi there,

Sorry for the late reply. Thank you for the information. Problem now seems sorted. The car had been sitting for a round 3 years and the the top had been left open on the top of the battery covering the fuseable links etc. The old one had melted the tray and we now assume it was down to corrosion on the joint. After cleaning the connection and replacing the unit as mentioned all now seems fine. No excessive drain on that post and very low heat. So hopefully all may now be ok.

Thanks for taking the time to look into this and reply mate. Much appreciated.

Regards,

Clive.

No probs'! B)
