About a year ago a ready-to-rally WRC came up for £14K

well the bonnets no good on its own...

on a serious note, those cars do come up from time to time, would be a hardcore buy but probably cheaper than modding a 4x4 to the same spec!

The WRC Octavia is a ProDrive car underneath, basically a prodrive active diff drivetrain transplanted into a specically made monocoque chassis.

The tuning potential of the WRC is serious, as its TR30R turbo can produce 550bhp, rather than just the 300bhp its limited to by WRC rules.

Even though restricted, they make 500nm of torque

yup well...a tube frame race car custom made for speed is always going to handle better than a family tow vehicle adapted to fast road spec.

you should spend less time working out calculations and more time getting that bl**dy caravan puller of yours back on the road :D

anyway, take off the restiction keeping the wrc too 300brake and it would be unstoppable!

I have a working van, thankyou very much. With it's nice new bushes, goes round corners as gear higher ~ that's the only caravan puller I've got

The power-to-weigh is an easy calculation to make, but the acceration times etc are subject to a huge number of variables their formula attempts to approximate
