Ordering times in Ireland

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I ordered a Superb Combi, 2.0 TDI, 170BHP Elegance on April the 2nd. I was told at least 12 weeks for delivery and reading the forums here I heard of some having to wait many months. To my surprise my dealer rang me yesterday to say that the build week was the first week in May and he would have delivery of the car on the 30th of May at the latest. All in all it will be 8 weeks from order to delivery. Lets wait and see if it is true!

My Combi was ordered in January and I got a 10 week lead time from the dealer in Dublin, which was bang-on.

I think there must therefore be a special button in the system that gives Irish dealers a queue-jumping ability!

I ordered my (petrol) combi at the beginning of week 7 with a projected eight weeks delivery. At the moment it's still showing on the system as a week 20 build..... :wonder:

I think it could be down to Irish slots not being as full as in the UK??? There must be still some capacity. Of course this is only true if Skoda allocates build slots per country? I wasn't expecting it to be 'on time' - i.e. 8 weeks, but am pleasantly surprised. I will post when i have it so we can see if the dealer is correct and also if ordering in Ireland is quicker.
