Cholmondeley Pageant of Power

Featured Replies

Right Lads and Ladies i just wanted to mention this as a possible National meet for Briskoda as I also own a seat (which will be going soon) and cupra.net have a national meeting at this event every year and is one hell of a good family or boys weekend away.

Its called the Cholmondeley Pageant of Power and runs from the 15th-17th July in the Chester area.

I attended 2 years ago (was on hols last year :() and was approx 50 Seat's there for the weekend and although my missus was dubious about enjoying it before going she loved every minute of it. It's taking on the goodwood festival of speed really and they have a similar run up the drive to the castle, a round of the national speed boats on the lake, helicopters and plane displays and shows every evening with fireworks etc.

There is a lot of money at this weekend not only with the cars on and off the track (benetton F1 and convertible veyron raced the course to name just a few) and hence is not your usual festival camping (toilets and showers are spot on). Not gonna try keep on about it as can check the website below, but just wanted to throw it out there as a possible time to have a weekend away and get to know the folks on Briskoda from all over the country and have a beer and camp. I know that cupra.net worked out a deal with the organisers and think i paid about £60 for the whole weekend camping and entry.

I aint a bloody salesman for the CPOP, but thought i would throw it out there to see if some of the moderators want to see about maybe joining the Seat boys for a top laugh if they going this year.

Take that as a no then lmao. Il just tag along with the seat bunch then.

I go to this every year (well ok, there's only been three!) and it improves year on year They even put the Le-mans 24hrs winning Bentley round the circuit. The amount of varied cars attending is unbelievable and to be able to wander around the paddock area and get up close and personal with millions of pounds worth of cars etc is a rare thing these days.

Well recommended and I will be going again this year. More than happy to combine it with a skoda meet

Ok well i am 95% there so will keep an eye out on this thread and if you want then will sort out having a small camping area for us lot to catch up over a beer or 10 :).

i went in to 2009 with my uncle and loved it, if u guys decide to get a stand and if i can book the day off i will come

I took an R8 in 2009 with the "Sporting Bears" and we camped near the Seat club, those guys partied hard and had some very well presented cars there.

should be going this year as its only up the road

im hoping to go this year too as its only 30 mins or so from me

Ok seems as if there will be a few of us going to this now. Im not sure if a moderator will allow me to add a quick post on the octy 2 page as that's where I spend 99% of my time on here to see if anyone who might be interested, but doesn't view this page will know about this, like I wouldn't if I hadn't posted it. Cheers

I'll be there on the Saturday chaps. Been to the others and thoroughly enjoyed. Nice that it's pretty local too - about 30 mins from me.

I see SCN aren't having a stand this year, due to lack of interest - which is a real shame as there were decent guys and motors there. Will look for Brisky stickers in the public carpark then :D - and if it's raining look out for Skoda Motorsport brollie ;)

Oh, and interesting you mentioning Sporting Bears. Spotted that last year, but didn't have any cash remaining! There was some epic stuff there, so hopefully I'll get out in something this time round :D

Cheers,

Steve

Yep, sounds familiar. I ordered before 30th April with a code, and got two paddock delivered for £32. Result :D

I wonder how many here can accurately pronounce 'Cholmondeley'. ;)

tempted...it was in Auto Express yesterday and it's only Chester which isn't that far

See you there ColGod :)

I go every year (well the 3 so far), I wanted to take the MX-5 but will have to take the Superb as I have an extra kid tagging along. It's a superb event, really is the Goodwood of the North West :)

Keep an eye out for a Silver Superb 2 TSi with a Brisky sticker in the back window :)

It's not as far as Chester, it's only down the A49 Paul (or one of the main entrances is)

Easy, no problem at all. Think Harry Enfield character :D

Will keep an eye out Tony. Didn't know you'd got another Superb either! Is your 'affair' with the Toyotas over now then?

Yes indeed mate, I need the car to be reliable for work

2 electronic handbrake failures, 1 DPF failure, 1 head unit failure, a reluctance to go in a straight line, an ecu problem and a bung from Toyota after 4 months of negotiation and investigation later and I'm back :)

BSM at Oulton Park so there's some travel advice on the site about which route to take.

I'm in two minds about whether its worth the bother of trying to go on the Sunday.

Oh dear! 'The car in front has broken'

Glad you're properly back emoticon-0148-yes.gif
