Remote Locking not working.... Convenience ECU

Featured Replies

Hi guys.

My 2001 fabia elegance has a problem with the remote central locking, which is i cannot unlock/lock the car via the remote. I have to manually open the car and this results in the alarm coming on whilst I put the key in the ignition :p.

I have read it could be water ingress, and I wanted to look at the convenience ECU but have no idea where it is?????

Any help on my issue would be great.

I have tried pairing the key with the car (both keys) and had no luck.

Also I'm tempted to buy this, to see if I can read the cars fault codes.

It has: - PAS Steering cutting out intermittently

- Remote Locking

Help please

:D

Thanks

The control unit is above the clutch pedal, never seen one with water in it as yet but it could be faulty anyhow.

Hello 'Faaaabia'

Have you replaced remote control battery??

Hi,

I read that there is a way to get the key to work using a set of turns in the drivers door lock. Not too sure if that works or not maybe someone here knows more or try a search, as for the PAS fault I can help you it is for sure the steering angle sensor, it will get worse in time and the sign its gone is flickering headlights and dash lights whilst driving the steering will go very light then the PAS light will come on in the dash and the PAS will fail. The steering will then go heavy no more PAS around the £200 price with the part.
