I don't really like how it looks but it's for a genuine reason, I'm overheating a lot and want to make it cooler anyway I can... Oil cooler is in the pipeline but surely this will help.

Should I big mouth my Fabia or not? Anyone got any photos of a black Fabia big mouthed with a SeatSport FMIC?

Please do it!!! Would love to see your car looking like :p

Sad, very sad :p

Indeed, t'was a memorable thread though :D

Overheating is nothing to do with bumper shape.

Run without a bumper on a track session, and tell me what happens.

There are other areas I would be looking at before changing a bumper, something is not right with it overheating that much. Not a fan of the big mouth either!

what other than getting lots of 'debris' holes through the rad/fmic :giggle:

Gutting out the aircon will vent the water radiator much better. I know I saw a marked drop in max water temps when I gutted out all my A/C gubbins.

Get it done will help fmic flow if nothing else! Cut the crash bar too

mine still looks standard and dusnt overheat..

bumper might have a little to do with it but id be looking at something in the cooling system. when the car overheats does the water level drop?

It's already been established he needs a oil cooler lol

Lend me your car for a couple of track sessions and let me verify. I can't get mine to overheat on the road but it surprised me how quickly I could get it to overheat on track. It was a proper hot day in fairness though.

That's not a bad idea actually, I'm sure you're right but what I'm saying is surely it can't make it any worse... It's gotta improve it, even if it's only for the FMIC like Jase says?

Have you tracked it in warmish temps, and what was the result?

Logically with just the small opening in the standard bumper it'd either reduce power or increase the running temp?

haha - running on track with no front bumper is probably not wise. Three of the bolts which holds the front wheel arch liners go into the bumper, so they'd be all flapping about at speed. :D

I was only joking about the bumperless idea lol!

The slats act like mini difusers, speeding up the air flow into the radiator. This compensates for the locations on the radiator which aren't covered due to actually sitting behind the slats. ( I can make a diagram to explain this if required)

You may get a bit of luck cutting holes into your crash bar.......or....creating a spoiler that channels the air from under the crash bar behind the crash bar.....

Best bet is oil cooler :-)

Or buy a proper track car... :D

The vRS obviosuly isn't desgned for track day slagging with 240bhp if it overheats? Maybe a rally-esque bumper could work? Super Skoda do some iirc
