Morning all Well am two weeks into the new ownership on my Octy RS FL and have to say im very impressed. As usual theres always questions to ask and todays one is....why dont the headrests tilt back and forward like they did on my old fab RS?!!...I could do with a bit tilt action on my one but the missus could def do with tilting hers back!!

How bizarre, the headrests on my 06 move fine.

sounds daft, but are you sure they're not just *really* stiff?

I gave them a good yank and nothing and it doesnt say in the manual that they move apart from up and down!!

The headrests got redesigned for the facelift model to make them safer in a crash. Looks like the tilt action got removed at the same time...

Youre right..They DONT tilt on the FL I'm afraid :S

Well thats no good!!..wonder if pre FL's would fit? Cant have the missus moaning all the way on a long journey!!...might be forced to drive into the nearest wall!!

Swap 'em out-they should be identical. Or do you have full leather? I.e., will old (grey) headrests not match (black) leather?

not sure if the colour will match!! Dont really know what colour the pre FL ones are...might have a wee chat with the dealer and see if he can do anything!! I know it might be safer in a crash but not everyone sits in a seat the same!!..hence all the adjustable bits on them!!

The mounts , ie the chrome lugs are identical, so a m2s should fit a plastic surgeoned one

Alot of modern cars have none tiltable headrests, its one of the reasons I didn't buy a Volvo as the headrests put me off abit.

I've never had a car with tiltable headrests..... :'(

The dealer has an 08 Rs in and a new 2011 FL rs in so he is going to have a look at the colour and condition of the 08 ones and if there mint he says he'll swap them no probs

HAve just been to the dealers and have swapped the headrests for those off an 08 rs...they are a slightly different shape but other than that you couldnt tell!...i have them for the weekend to see how the missus likes them

Well after the debackle of the audi it was the sensible thing to do! I went for a black one with no extras as i didnt want to wait for months to order one.

I got it from Autostation up in Sandyford.

Nearly 4yr and I've never even tried to do that.
