Remove tweeter - oct 2

Featured Replies

I have some new Vibe components going into my oct 2, and have the door cards off but have no idea how to remove the tweeter, it almost seems like they are glued in. Can anyone shed any light on this?

Cheers guys :)

They are plastic welded in. You have to cut away that and then they should come out nicely with a ridge to mount the vibes. Be careful the fluid filled tweeters are not to deep for the tweeter grills though, otherwise you will have to use spacers to push the tweeters further back into the door.

Cheers

Thanks for that mate, got the tweeters out fine. Now the issue is the new tweeters have a mounting diameter (what do they mean by mounting flush...does that mean just liek the way the OEm tweeters were mounted!?) of 2 inches...which is massive, far more then the 1.2" the OEM tweeters have. The depth is also quite big at 1.2". Does this mean there is a fair amount of plastic that needs to be hacked away? :(

2 inches diameter? for a tweeter! wow. That's alot. do thay provide any adapters? Yes. Flush means in the same way, but at 2 inches you might have a challenge!
