new clutch + DMF

Featured Replies

Hi

In a bit of a quandry.

Just been quoted today by hobin of manchester just under £1000

for a new clutch kit and Dual mass flywheel and fitting. But skoda will contribute

30%. Independant says £670. All standard. Do i have any other options?

Has anyone got it done any cheaper in the Manchester area?

Thanks

Andy

Why do you need a new flywheel? is is knackered or are just replacing out of precaution.

The DMF is totally knackered, also my release bearing is on its way out!!

Only reason i ask because i'm having a new clutch and bearing fitted and the DMF is as good as new @ 70K and the mechanic didnt feel the need to change for the sake of it. Although my clutch slippage was due to a leaking gear box seal not wear.....

The cost is the same for you so which ever garage suits your needs best. Have you any previous work at either, were you impressed with one more than the other

Had my MOT and Cupra bushes done at the independant, A couple of services at skoda. do have a voucher for £100 off parts at skoda thou?

Dont know!!

i would go with the cheapest then 30% and £100 quid would make it cheaper than the indi garage

Unless you know which mechanic is working on you car it could be a lottery at either one.... Its a simple enough job to do and i'm sure both have done hundreds.
