has enybody had this lifeshine protection is it eny good i ordered a new roomy and was going to have it but is it worth it

the roomy is black was only having it just to keep down the wirlls you get on black cars thanks pete

Its called Supaguard in my dealers and yes, it is worth it if you don't clean/polish the car that much. If you are anal and clean/polish it regularly then I wouldn't bother with it! I will most likely lightly machine polish mine 2-3 times a year.

Yep...had Supaguard treatment inside and out when it was new. It's now over two and a half years old. The paint has stayed in 'new' condition. No swirls at all and the paint is bright and shiny, no oxidization. I don't use a sponge mind you to clean it. I use one of these high tec soft mitts with the Supaguard wash system. I don't wash my car very often either but when I do the dirt just falls off. I treat the alloy wheels with the Supaguard protector and I use the cleaner that comes in the kit too. Is it the best system?....don't know, but it's worked for me.

Swirl marks are caused by poor washing technique so I doubt this product would help with it.

I've got stuff better than the Autoglym and like Ad Lav I halso have a machine polisher so not bothering with it. Well overpriced too if you ask me...

is yours the black vrs i have the car washed eveyweek by smart car which just over the road from the skoda dealers

and allways gets wax evey mouth but if you have it moped the wirlls and will still cum back black its a nite mare

Lifeshine is very different product from supagaurd and the other permanent treatments.

Once supagaurd and gaurdX type treatments are on your stuck with either topping up the treatments or removing them altogether with a machine polish and correction if the shine goes dull.

Lifeshine still gives the lifetime warranty and paint protection but Autoglym actually encourage you to polish and wax over the top on a regular basis.

As I like to polish and look after my car it's the only treatment I'd consider.

But VW quoted me £399 for one of thier staff to do it. I found a local approved and trained autoglym valeter who did me the same job for £120.

Black is a pain, hence why i've gone white! :)

Once you've had black you'll never want it back... :D

I use a two bucket method and a grit stopper thing in the bottom. Use a wash mitt rather than sponge, although a sponge for wheelss is fine.

What's a 'grit stopper thing'?

I had the treatment done on the VRS and got it thrown in as part of the deal (Ive also had supaguard on a previous car). Personally I think its worth it especially if the you can get it thrown in, I do alot of car cleaning and I have to say it does keep the car nice as did the supaguard before. I didn't have it on my last car and completely regretted it!

I'd say its worthwhile for the paintwork, wifes Polo was treated and 3 years on still cleans up like new. Never been polished either. Good for alloys as well as prevents brake dust from bedding into the lacquer.

Interior treatment is a waste of time though, not seen any benefit from that at all. Only thing I would say is that if you have an accident ensure the affected areas are re-treated, if you dont ask you wont get.

This time round we're not bothering, dealer (after discount) still wanted £250, way too much money. It's almost pure profit for the Garage as the packs only cost the dealership about £30! Car will be on a 3 year PCP and will probably go back to Skoda at the end so dont feel its worth wasting the money.

We had it on the last 2 Fabia's we had prior to the vRS

Total waste of time!!

Even thrown in as part of the deal, it made little difference to the appearance of the car

The vRs has Bilt Hamber protection applied by me and its far superior

IMO..Dont waste your money

I'm not bothering either. I'll be claying, using a good sealant and a few good coats of Collinite on day one for the bodywork and wheels. Not sure if I need polish or not or what's the best one to go for on a new car. The neighbours will think I've gone mad cleaning a new car :giggle:

Why would you clay a new car?

Definitely get some Poorboys on those wheels though.

Why would you clay a new car?

Picks up a lot of contaminants being transported. Definitely worth doing!

I bought a new Renault Trafic last year & used Toughseal http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Splashgroup-Chemicals For people who haven't got the time to polish this product works.Even Seagull crap cleans off effortlessly, but for me the best product on this site was the nano glass cleaner it really work's

I used this on mine when the car only 3 week old the clay ended up brown which it is supposed to do and the paint really smooth applied the wax. i have washed her 3 times since (once a week) and the water still puddles and runs off she ends up nearly dry. After wash i leather ends up shining. got of auction site £25 clay and collinite with apply sponge and polishing cloth great stuff.

Well i'll take that back then. Jeez the wife will think i've gone mental if i clay it the day i get it.

Hi Leeds...yeah, believe me, it does help enormously. I've always used a mitt to wash her down with since they first found their way onto the shelves years ago. But I still used to get some minor swirl marks on cars I hadn't had treated. And I'm fussy and careful as hell. The Supaguard recently really proved it's worth, when after some minor body damage (ladder fell on car), the car had to visit the bodyshop. Unfortunately, during it's time in the oven, the 'plastic bag' they put the car in during the baking process came into contact with the paintwork on the roof. This caused some 'sweating' which can mark the paint badly and is every bodyshop persons nightmare as it's a big deal normally and can mean new clear coat needed or worse. Amazingly, because I had Supaguard on the paint the sweat markes came off easily. The bodyshop was amazed, and no damage to the clear coat. They reapplied the Supaguard of course. they said it was entirely down to the Supaguard that the paint hadn't been harmed.
