Enjoy it! I love mine, I hope you'll do the same, its a great motorcar!

Picked up my white Yeti yesterday at DM Keith at York and am thrilled with it.

I've had six Seats in 12 years and was ready for a change. I initially went into the garage looking for another Seat as they are nice cars, but as soon as I set eyes on the white Yeti on the forecourt I really wanted one.

It's been a long wait since November 6, 2010 and a bit frustrating too, with quite a wait for shipping and delivery, however, it was worth it and I'd urge people not to be put off by the delivery time.

Driving a new car is always a bit nerve wracking, are the indicators on the same side, how will be brakes be etc but I had no problems at all. I'd opted for the entry level 1.2cc and was pleased it had a lot of the features of my last Seat including temperature display and those for mph and mpg electronically displayed. What I particularly like is the display which tells you if you need to change up or down a gear. With six gears the car runs very smoothly and you can be in a high gear even at slower speeds than my old Seat. The acceleration is phenomenal, the Yeti has much more oomph than my 1.4 Seat.

Took a trip to Hawes this morning for lunch and felt like royalty with a lot of admiring glances, Yetis are relatively rare in North Yorkshire and we only saw one other all day. I found I could corner at a slightly higher speed than the Seat, visibility was a great deal better as there is no huge pillar at the back and on the return journey I got 45.5mpg which I thought was pretty good as there was a lot of changing up and down the gears and braking on fairly narrow country roads.

Have had one hitch which might be worth mentioning and that is that we ordered a square cool/hot box and I didn't check it until I got home when I found we had been supplied a different one with a sloping lid which is only suitable for a couple of drinks and some chocolate bars. Apparently the right one was ordered but the model has been superseded by the smaller box so the dealer is going to contact Skoda on Tuesday to see if we can get the larger one.

We also ordered the spare wheel as I didn't want to mess about with gas canisters if I get a puncture and the good thing about that is it has brought the boot level up to be almost level with the boot rim, good for sliding suitcases in.

Was very pleased to see Stephen at the dealership as service manager as we had long association with him when he was at the previous Seat dealership.

I know it's early days, but what's not to like?

Well the excitment is mounting  Need to pack my bag tonight as I'm flying to London tomorrow  Then it's down to Kent for an overnight stay before going up to London Wednesday morning for the pick-up  Once everything is completed it's back up to Chester University and tea with my daughter then up to Heysham for the overnight ferry back to the Island. So that mileage should give me a very quick insight into the Yeti world, especially as I haven't seen one in the flesh yet  Here's hoping it's everything you all say it is! Will let you know how I get on in due course. Now, must remove that pesky Renault from my profile - done  .
