Polish, Wash and Seal?

Featured Replies

I plan to polish my car with AG SRP to clean and to hide some very minor swirl marks on the clearcote then seal with FK1000. I have already removed tar spots and touched up minor blemishes in the paintwork and am happy with the condition of the paint with only a few light swirl marks in the clearcoat remaining.

I am told SRP can be dusty and my question is should I wash my car again after the polishing stage before I seal it with two coats of FK1000 or simply seal directly after polish stage. I have concerns that washing the car after the polish stage will it remove the fillers left by the SRP thus exposing the swirl marks again prior to sealing the car. I use FK1016 shampoo in my normal washing regime..

Just apply the FK 1000p directly over the SRP as washing will partially remove the fillers, buff the SRP off well to remove any dusting

Thanks, I suspected washing would remove some of the fillers. Will have to take care not to seal in any dust.

...have read that some opt to wash car again even after polishing or claying to remove polishing dust in order to avoid swirls
