Vrs v Monte Carlo

Featured Replies

I can well understand why people are lapping up the Vrs with the kind of performance you get for £.15500.What I like to know is how you Vrs owner's are copping with the dark interior the demonstrator I saw at Newton Abbot. Devon had black ceiling, black seats, black carpets, blacked out rear windows. Honestly I thought I would need a torch to see any rear passengers. :D Contrast the Monte Carlo with the red lined seats & lighter roof just seemed so much roomier :wonder: just made me wonder what there like to live with?

The one I drove seemed very light due to the amount of glass?

Oh and £15.5k? You're being ripped off at that price ;)

Cant say as iv taken much notice of the dark interior to be honest iv just being enjoying the drive far too much to worry about who's in the back!

Can't say i have even given it a thought. Best of all it only cost £13400 B) and delivery was three weeks  . Admittedly it was already sat in the showroom and i'm guessing the dealer wanted to move it on.

Not another vrs vs monte carlo thread...

you get the same seat options with the montecarlo as you do with the vRS, either grey or red stitching iirc

Not another vrs vs monte carlo thread...

Sorry buddy new to the forums & didn't check to see duplicate post's I blame the bottle of red wine I've consumed b4 the Easter weekend :S

I'm only joshing dude- i'll lap up anything on these forums in my endless wait for my car. Welcome to the forums!!! :)

vRS has dark interior for a more classy and sporty feel? I hate light headlinings, looks really tosh :(

Current vRS has black headlining and so does new one, wouldn't buy a car without it now!

We've been lucky at someone else's expense in which they had to cancel there order because they were made redundant. We have taken over there original order so only have to wait a month. I hope at least by taking over there order they get there deposit back :(

Monte has the vrs black headlining too, so that's a bit weird

Darker the interior the easier I find it to concentrate on the roads at night. Nothing glaring into your eyeballs while your trying to stare at the shi**y worn white lines on the road and lack of cats eyes! :)

The monte carlo i test drove had a black headlining? Wasnt a light colour at all.

I agree - also during the day. When the motoring press refer to a car's interior as 'bland' (as they do with the Fabia), that's just what I want to hear. Any silver trim or light-coloured bits are just a distraction for me.

I agree with you guys, I love the black interior. It makes the car feel more focused on the driving, more cocooned inside the car

Agree the black headlining in the vRS very nice. 180Bhp TSI motor very useful for leaving those sluggish Monte's in your wake too....! :p

The monte's a great car for those that don't want the performance but want the style therefore it isn't really a comparison for the VRS. The VRS is performance galore and the Monte just looks the part. It depends on personal requirements and finances IMO. If I wasn't a 20 year old male looking for something to shock a lot of people, I'd have no quarrels buying a monte :)

Quoted £625 and a few pence! haha! Which personally I was astonished at!

Astonishing indeed. Son of a friend of mine is paying £3200 on a 1.2 Clio, with a clean licence. He's 19

Been quoted £455 (im 22 years old) on my new monte when it arrives, pretty happy with that, protected NCD too :)

Happy days!

Insurance seems to be pretty good for the vRS too - its the same price to insure as my MK1 vRS :)

That's pretty disgusting! £625 is cheaper than what i pay for my Corsa right now!
