Fabby VRS problems......

Featured Replies

Hi all,

My coolant light keeps coming on and I'm losing a litre of water per 110miles.

I recently had a new head gasket and there is no leak. No built up pressure in coolant tank and I sounded it in paper towels and nothing leaking out of it either. Road is also bone dry under my car. No unusual smoke out of exhaust.

Stumped...... Any ideas?

Thank you

We had similar problems with ours last year, and suspected the head gasket, but took into a dealer and the found a small leak in

the radiator, as as you said no water dripping, and no signs on the rad its self.

Thanks for that, how did they spot the leak? I cannot see any leak

Get some Radseal/weld. from accessory shop, it may be just a tiny leak that sprays when under pressure, that should sort it

If head gasket gone then usually the coolant gets contaminated from cylinder gases entering under pressure.

There has tobe a leak somehere. If you have a small coolant leak, occurring only under hot and under pressure , then I guess the coolant may be evaporating before it can form a puddle anywhere. Get under the car and have a really look with the engine running. Watch out for those belts and fans.

Hi again

Sorry I did not ask them ! at the time I was expecting the worse (headgasket) but when they told me it was the radiator,

I was no too bothered, just relieved !
