Does The Rs Have Silicone Brake Fluid As Original?

Featured Replies

I'v bought 2.5 litre of Motul RBF 600.

Get home, look at the fine print, "DO NOT MIX WITH SILICONE FLUIDS."

I thought it could!

But i'm not sure if skoda/VAG uses silicone fluid in the brakesystems.. anyone knows??

Can I use the Motul? :(

John?

Oh, for the good old days!

No problems with different fluids for brake, power steering, and suspension - just keep the hydraulics reservoir topped up with LHM and it all worked! :)

Note: I wouldn't trade in my Octavia for another Citroen, but at least they had the hydraulic fluid sorted out!

No, its not silicone fluid in standard cars. No problem with the Motul.

You can only use dot 4 in standard top up.

Silicone is way to expensive for poor little skoda to justify using it at this time.

If you want dot 5.1 silicone you will have to drain off old stuff and then replace it.
