312mm brakes

Featured Replies

What make discs are people running? Been looking at some brembo discs and pads, any good? What makes would people advise?

Also is it better to get groved, drilled, drilled and grooved???

Mine are mintex drilled and grooved and seem very good. With mintex fast road pads

I was alway led to believe that drilled (only) discs aren't great.

Mine are plain mintex discs that were purchased from an ebay link posted on here a while back. Whilst I can't knock the price or performance, i am a little unhappy as within a few weeks of fitting the housing rusted up and looked shocking. Whilst running the porsche alloys, this didn't show as the adapters hid it very well. However, now the BBS are on, it is annoying me again.

I need to fit some 256mm rears shortly, so whilst the car is on the ramps, i'll be changing the front discs at the same time and will probably chuck a layer of silver hammerite on the housing prior to fitting (just in case)

Heard good feedback about CRN, so will give them a go soon. Link below :)

OEM seem to get highly rated.

Audi discs and pads is all ive ever used and they seem fine

Correct, Tiny radii from the holes produce high stress points, and crack after a few cycles on discs made from poor material.

I'd recommend oem plain discs, or 2 piece discs with alloy bells........

2 piece discs with alloy bells........

Sounds like a plan

I vote OEM. Can't fault them

Can't remember where but I remember reading something between those discs that had been cast with the holes in place and those that had been cast plain and had the holes drilled. Don't know if its true, but it makes sense to my mind - the difference will be seen in price no doubt

im finally running 312's proper skoda discs and pads. are great.

I use Pagid discs and pads from Euro Car Parts, it's what the main dealers 'should' be using also, but according to my local Indie the local dealership have been cost cutting and using cheaper brands

No rust to speak of as the Pagid discs come painted already

Tarox G88 & Tarox Strada pads.

Work well, will be going for DS2500 pads when it's time though.

Another vote for pagid oem. Also used ebc oem. Both have held up well just the pagid ones come painted. :)

Any ideas where one could purchase a two-piece 312mm 5x100 disc from???
