What are people's views on VIBE

Featured Replies

As above really :)

Was looking for a full Vibe install inc compnents etc

What are peoples views on them sound quality wise?

If insurance is going to bend me over for a few mods I maise well do me ice for now till i am older ;)

Cheers

From what I've heard, their stuff is "ok". It won't set the world alight and you could get better quality for the money, but it's not a rip-off. If you have a budget, let us know what you want to do / change and we'll advise - if you want :)

I've never heard the stuff myself and the only views I've heard from others are for their active subs.

Well I have $800.00 (pound symbol has never worked unfortunatly :( ) to spend, thats what's left over after I purchase my headunit. I was after a bit of soundquality (what my last system lacked) but also do like big deep rich bass, so would be prepared to spend a bit extra on the sub/amp etc...

Music taste is extreamly wide accept classical

Would also be interested in sound deading etc

And dont want 6x9's, found they just draw a lot of the music to the back, so I can budget for some good components

Cheers for any help/advice etc... :)

@Walkie - drop us a PM on what OS you have installed, will try to get ya 'pound'in ;)

What HU are you getting? Some of the Alpines are 4x60w and should do to run the speakers off and sound good, thereby leaving you a fair whack of money to spend on components for the front, a 12" sub for the back (would recommend a 12 if you listen to a wide range of music, 10s tend to be suited mainly to dance music) and a beefy amp to run the sub. That said, if you're not afraid of ebay you could buy a decent sub, components, rear speakers, wiring kit and amp big enough to run the lot if you hunted around...

I am going for the ever so popular Pioneer DEH-P77MP. Sound quality is meant to be top and it looks spot on

Thanks for your replies, some interesting idea's there!

Anyone know of a place where I can hear some of these subs?

Would I be right in thinking caraudiodirect and caraudiosecurity are pertty much the cheapest place to buy? excluding ebay of course!

Cheers

yup, caraudiodirect is also my local car audio shop so i can vouch for their knowledge and honest advice and those subs are the ones they strongly advised me on getting. if you did want an RF amp cheap from me walkie then i am sure i could get anything from the shop at internet prices(i go there a lot) and you could collect the lot in one go therefore not needing to pay postage

btw i have heard the 10" type S alpines in one of the shops guys car and they rocked, this was before they were even run in and not turned up to loud but they were pretty damned good

Well after much thought I have decided to go for two subs and am thinking of around 300.00 to spend... Any recommendations?

If you're going into the hassle of putting components in, I'd deffo amp them with a proper seperate amp. I'm not knocking the power the recent alpines give out, but if you want to still comfortably listen to music at motorway speeds, you're gonna need some decent quality power (class AB amp) to drive them :D

For what it's worth, I'd make a kind request on talkaudio. They're a decent bunch of guys and if you say you're after sound quality with an

i currently have a pair of them rockfords you suggested but only 10" ones instead and they are quite good but am moving to the equilelent alpines as they are stronger and clearer. in fact my 10" RF's are more powerfull than theose ones, only by 50W a piece but still bigger.

IMO the alpines kick the ass of the rockfords.a pair of the alpines(type R or S not E) run at 1ohm would absolutely rock
