30,000 Mile status report......

In one word: Boring.

Since the fix of the leaking turbo discharge and replacement of the xenon ballasts under warranty more than a year ago - NOTHING. No issues, no leaks, creaks or groans.

I am still convinced that the 16 inch wheels are the most natural for the Yeti.

The DPF does clean itself occasionally, particularly now that I do not have as many longer distance business trips, so lots of short drives, but no problems at all.

I wish you many more boring miles/kilometers. I hope to have a similar experience B)

Don't get me wrong, I am very happy with Snehvide. Fun to drive and dominating on the road.

There is just nothing interesting to **** and moan about, so reporting gets boring - as it should.

As ever, Ager-B, as one of the very original Yeti owners and contributors to this helpful and supportive forum, I'd like to thank you for those 30000 miles of reports that you have shared with us!

Ever since I ordered my Yet in 02/10 I have subscribed to the Yeti part of ~Briskoda and you, and Tim The Plumber (was The Pedestrian) have given us common sense posts and information which has proved invaluable.

I hope all of us have "boring" experiences, for that means we've bought cars that do what they were intended to do. So far, apart from an errant farm collie or six, my experience mirrors your own.

Cheers, Good Soldier Svek!!

Well, that's embarrasingly high praise from the Welch mountains.

However it got me thinkin' a bit, and what influences our little ways. two piees of litterature have always had a special place in my life:

Living in the land of H.C. Andersen, The Emperor's New Clothes' little child has been an idol of mine. During summer camps in the early schol years, one teacher was reading from The Good Soldier Svejk of Jaroslav Hasek at night after lights out. The (mis)fortunes and the way they were solved followed me along and were very recognizable in my year in the army. Having read Svejk and worked with an ex-pat Czech makes readig and understanding the Skoda manuals so much easier.

Both pieces of literature demonstrates a deep understanding of the human psyche in a very accessible format - well worth reading and cheaply available from places like Amazon UK.

If you have read the Svejk stories, the Yeti immediately makes sense: German VAG effectiveness flavored with the Czech sense of humour and complete disregard for "standardized" thinking.

Hi Agerbundsen,

glad to hear the Monster is being boring  hope you have many more enjoyable boring miles to come :giggle:

All being well should be picking up my new Tibetan White Yeti on Moon alloys on Saturday :)

Regards as always,

TP
