mite think about buying a ipod later on will it fit in the roomster can you give eny ifo thanks pete

Might think about buying an iPod later on. Will it fit in the Roomster can you give any info? Thanks, Pete

You can plug an iPod, or most other mp3 players (I use a Nokia 5800 mobile phone), into an auxiliary socket between the seats. then if you press the CD button on the radio twice it will play through the car speakers.

Edited to say: You can also save up to about 120 mp3 tracks s to a CD using iTunes because the Dance radio can play them. Then you have about 3 hours of music on one CD.

hi calomax does this aply to the new roomster se model not the old model thanks pete

if the roomstet still is based on the fabia then yes, it will work.

Both new and old Roomsters have the AUX-plug. To this you can connect anything that has an earplug connector and listen via the cars speakers. You cannot control the player from the radio, but the songs need to be selected from the device - only sound is transferred.

The Roomster radio is also upgraded to Swing with the facelift, but the functionality to play MP3 files remain. The Aux in was not working very well for me (low volume, poor sound quality, might have been my cheapo cable as well), so I have used the MP3s instead - then you also get full control via the in-car radio.

hi raz so its best to go for a mps playler than a ipod it will work better don't now much about them yet but i mite look in to them

instead of the cds thanks for your help pete

An iPod IS an mp3 player. I play mine happily through the Aux socket on my facelift Roomster 1.2 SE. As already pointed out, you are simply taking the output from the iPod through the car radio instead of through headphones. (You need a cable with a mini-jack - like a headphone plug - on each end.) You have to select tracks on the iPod, but you can control volume either from the iPod or with the radio's volume control.

As previously pointed out, iTunes lets you save your music in mp3 format and burn it to a CD in mp3 format, giving you 3 hours music on one CD. You can also play commercially produced CDs in the Roomy radio, of course, but they typically give you a maximum of about an hour per disc. I keep a handful of home-burned CDs in the glovebox and they give me enough choice of music for the longest journey.

on my radio once you have selected the AUX IN there is a submenu you can access that give 3 different sensitivty settings, the default is least sensitive and the sound out from the radio is very quiet, have a look it may help

i found it by doing my normal "doh what does this button do???" to find what i can and can't do before resorting to RTFM
