Twindoor Tailgate Badge

Featured Replies

Just been de-tarring and cleaning the paintwork after another winter of daily use and whilst cleaning the paintwork on the bootlid I focussed closely on the tailgate badge because the recess around it harbours polish etc.

to my surprise the badge is starting to show small patches of corrosion around the edges. I wash my car by hand at least once a week throughout the year (except during the coldest spell obviously) and the car has now survived it's second winter with what appeared to be relative ease,. has anyone else had a good look at their bootlid badge lately?. I wonder if this will be a warranty fix,, I would hate to see the state of the badge after another winter!!

I've seen the same thing on Fords. car companies look to be moving toward the chromed badges like Renault and Vauxhall have now rather than the coloured and sealed badges Skoda and Ford use.

Could be worth waiting for the new design badges that are been used later this year or get it changed under warranty.

Yes it's a common problem that affects all Skoda badges and it is covered under the warranty (check the wheel centre badges as well as they are also prone to the white worm).
