Super Pro list many mm sizes for 15mm,17mm,19mm 21mm and 23mm,

SPF2593-23K is the one you want buddy (the -23k indicates 23mm) this changes for the other size ARBs

The rear tie bars on the R32 have a slotted hole so have some adjustment unlike the standard bars on a 4x4. I had to change mine because of the tyre scrub. Also the drop links are shorter on an R32.

just the fronts or front and back for the drop links as they list the same on Etka for the rear ones (or I may not be looking properly)

did you change to the R32 tie bars or one of the aftermarket ones? I dont want to go really low like some coilovers will allow so will the R32 tie bars be good enough? I am only going to be using the standard R32 suspension as a cheap alternative as my shocks etc need replacing and I have been offered a full set of springs and shocks at a good price.

Just the rear drop links are shorter (4x4 partnumber 1J0 505 466 C, R32 partnumber 1J0 505 466 B ). I swapped my rear tie bars for R32 ones as I have Golf 4motion estate sport suspension on my 4x4, didn't want to go as low as an R32. Once you get yours sorted I'd be very interested to see how much lower it is than mine

If you where only ever going to fit R32 stuff, then they'd be OK

If at a later date you where going to fit something better with height adjustability, then I'd look at Forge/CompBrake/KW adjustable units

The aftermarket units have the advantage of being considerably stronger than the OE ones.

As for droplinks, I don't have any issue with my stock ones, and I'm maybe a little lower at the front than a R32

The front droplinks are the same partnumber for the 4x4 and R32, it's just the rears that are shorter.

so is there a coilover kit off a more widley used car ie golf/bora/passat ect that can be put on the octavia ???

ricksy, Suspension kits for the Mk.4 Golf R32 fit onto the Octavia 1U 4x4, the vRS and other FWD Octavia models are different

The front droplinks are the same partnumber for the 4x4 and R32, it's just the rears that are shorter.

:nerd: if the drop links are shorter, this would change the angle of the ARB, since the R32 ARB has a 'kink' which requires the 'spare wheel well mod', would short drop links require more or less bashing in of the wheel well ? ....

Doesn't seem any other clearance issue

The 4x4 has taller springs as standard so the droplink would need to be longer to keep the rear arb angle 'correct'. Maybe if you fitted shorter R32 rear droplinks less bashing of the wheel well would be required. Not sure really though, the droplinks were £16 each so I just swapped them as well.

do you have a part number for the r32 droplinks as I am looking to get the r32 shocks and springs fitted thursday and dont want to get caught out if they do need to be changed.

There what i use on my 4x4 and thay do the job fine :-)

with Weitec Hicon GT Coilover Suspension Kit.

Think you have like 3 makers that do coilovers for the 4x4 Weitec Hicon GT are just over 600 then you have PI Coilovers Skoda Octavia for about 450 ish then then spax but thay are harder then Weitec Hicon GT. there are more up at the 800 mark but dont think your looking that high :-)

But this is my 4x4 on Weitec Hicon GT Coilover Suspension Kit.

And this is the lowest you can take your 4x4.

they may be the manufactures who advertise as 'specifically' Octavia 4x4, but anything for the Mk.4 Golf R32 fits the Octavia 4x4 - this includes top-spec stuff from Bilstein, KW, etc
