just died

Featured Replies

lastnight i pulled away from a set of lights . . my car made a realy loud wastegate noise then just died . . .now it wont start or anything.

everything seems mechanicaly sound so wondering if its electrical. .

its currently at the garage and im awaiting a call from em ..

anyone heard of this happening and what causes it?

cheers

Turbo

Turbo

Wouldn't stop it from turning on though, unless you've completely blocked the intake or exhaust? Disconnect the boost pipes post turbo and see if it fires up (although if your exhaust is blocked this might not be a good plan...)

Do the electrics turn on when the key is turned?

Another thing I guess is check your cam belt is still in one piece... :S

yeah all electrics work . . cam belt is fine. . fuel is still gettin thru . . checked that . . intake is clear but dunno bout exhaust . . still waiting to hear from garage

i hope to god its not the turbo . .ive heard that if one injector goes down it automaticaly shuts down the rest of em. . but i dnt have the stuff to strip the engine and look . .

its only done 42k . . and was running fine before . .no warning or anything

=[

Sounds a little like I had a few years back. New turbo fixed it :(

Mine wouldnt start over either.

If it's sized it won't start

take the 90 degee pipe off the egr valve if turbo has gone and blocked inlet. it should fire up

was the turbo . . .it'd blew and shot nearly all the engine oil thru the intercooler and even into the cylinders, hence why it wouldnt start . .coz the engine couldnt get air . . .just got it back yesterday after nearly two weeks . .was all under warrenty too =D

happy days
