New SuperB Vibrate a lot

Featured Replies

i recently bought new Elegant SuperB 1.8 TSI

the car is vibrating on 65MPH very hard.

they changed tires and made balancing.

nothing help.

now they say it suppose to be like this.

Mine does not vibrate at any speed, if it did I would be very unhappy.

Go to an independent tyre specialist and get them to check the tyres/balancing.

My TSi 1.8 is very quiet and no vibration at all, just get tyre roar. check the alloy wheels and make sure there not dammaged with all these pot holes! then get the tracking checked/wheel bearings and wheels balanced. it is probably just one wheel that is the culprit!

Back to the dealer! Try out another car with the salesman and compare. No way it's supposed to be like this. No way.

I suppose the tyre pressures have been checked (they're very over-inflated originally)?

If your car is vibrating at 65-70 mph its normally the rear wheels or tyres that are the problem.front wheel vibration normally only happens at 50mph.I had the same problem on one of my old cars could not solve the problem but when later on i had to have new rear tyres fitted the vibration disappeared .

If the steering wheel vibrates its the front wheels, if the whole car vibrates (ie your trousers against your leg as you drive) then its the rear wheels.

This should be a very straight-forward fix.

1. Is it front or rear wheels?

2. Get the dealer to swap those two wheels with a part exchange vehicle and then take your car out and drive at 65-70mph. If the problem is still present (doubtful) then its not wheel/tyre related. If it is then it could be the tyres themselves as cheap tyres are not always perfectly round (as odd as that sounds). What tyres do you have on the car?

Its important that the hub face is clean and free of grit and dirt when the wheel is mounted.

As someone said, out of balance at 50mph/80kph and out of shape tyres at 65mph/110kph or thereabouts. Out of round tyres can be detected by running your hands around the tyre, it is very usually very obvious.

The service manager of skoda took the car

To ride with me and said it suppose to be like that

Amazing answer.

I drove only 2000 miles in this month and still same.

Swap one of the rear wheels with the spare. If it is still the same then swap the other rear wheel with the one you took off. Keep going around the car until the spare has replaced each of the wheels.

No modern car should vibrate in the way you are describing it. The only time I have had this was after I ran over an iron bar that fell from a truck. It dented one of the wheels and even though it was in balance afterthe dealer had checked it, it wasn't round and so made the whole car shake.

Mine don't vibrate either, so go tell your dealer to prove to you that it's normal.

Why do you ask them to take out their test drive car and do another run and see if the test drive car also behaves the same. If it is, I guess that really is how the car behaves normally, otherwise, you should try to prove them wrong then!!!!!!!!

Ask them to take your car as a demo car and see how many cars they will sell then...
