Steering Wheels

Featured Replies

I'm looking at getting a aftermarket steering but have a few questions

What fitment do I need?

Can I go smaller?

Is it a mot failure to have one without a airbag?

I'm pretty sure it's a fail unless the air bag light comes on, then goes off like it does now, this is the thing that makes me want to stay with a OEM wheel.

As for the rest, it's just a case of getting whichever wheel you fancy & the adapter for it. There's a company on eBay doing MOMO wheels & adapters in a kit kinda thing

I just want a smaller wheel. Even my transit van has a smaller wheel than my fab lol

I've got an original Skoda leather (non-VRS) 4-spoke wheel that I had fitted by the dealership when I ordered my car 10years ago!! Doesn't seem that big....maybe try one of those??? B)

im going for a momo team 300mm steering wheel, you get a resistor in the boss kit that makes the airbag light work as normal.ive had the 280mm team before buts itsabit to small for me.

I think you're getting confused with the ABS. A colleague of mine has an old Audi and the airbag light has been on since he bought it four years ago.

Bump anyone with pictures of aftermarket steering wheels fitted?

Hasn't Devonutopia got one?

I have a Momo one of some description, I'm not sure which as it was on when I bought the car. I'll grab a pic when I go to work tomorrow. Goes through an MOT fine, Awesome MOTed it just before I picked the car up and it definitely had the wheel on.

Momo Team 280 - its the future

As I said, I have no idea which wheel that actually is. Feels quite nice though, and is shaped around the thumbs a bit like the much coveted LCR 225 wheel that's almost the "holy grail" for Leon drivers. Looks a little bit out of place when you're used to OEM interiors and it's the only source of any red stitching in the whole car (would look better in an LCR or something with red stitching all over the place) but I like it.

edit - and no problem with airbag lights, does exactly what it's supposed to. The airbag warning lights up when you turn the ignition on, and then a couple of seconds later goes off.
