Help with headlight rear cover - spring holder broke

Featured Replies

As above, one of my headlights blew so I went to take the plastic cover off and the driver side one is held at the bottom with some sort of spring (Didnt even know this), and as I was to heavy handed it broke off and so the cover wont clip on properly and Im afraid water will get In, condensation etc. as its not sitting on properly at all.

Does anyone have the part number for these covers at all?

FWIW, one of my headlamps came without the cover, and that was fine - never misted up or anything.

Can't help with the part numbers or anything though, sorry. Might be worth trying a scrap yard for them?

Not sure on the part number, but they are around £5 each side from the dealers as I replaced mine a couple of months ago.

I just phoned them up and said I need the back covers for the headlights.

Cheers for getting back to me guys! I've managed to get them on pretty tight and it seems well sealed just now (fitted HID's btw). I'll maybe take time to visit the dealers and order onw just to be on the safe side though.

The spring isn't really required!

Just make sure the tabs at the bottom are located properly, Then clip the top clips into place!

Pretty much what I've done and holding up okay so far but honestly I tried so hard to remove the cover with the spring on and It wouldn't budge so I had to break it haha!

You can pop a screw in the top to hold it! There's 2 screw guides on each lamp!

Yes yes yes yes I agree to an extent :p!

I got them handed to me for free, brand new by a friend who decided not to fit them to his A3 so I am trying them out tonight with a few mate's and If they appear to be far too dazzling or glare then I do the right thing and remove them, revert back to Osram Nightbreaker's.

Ok
