That's what i am thinking.Why GSM11 in a September 2010 built car?

Its not old it is just a cheaper version hence why it is part of the standard kit in IE - Same as the Fabia.

Yes it should do as it is basically just HFP.

Yes it should. GSMII works even with very old Nokia phones, seen some MKII pre-FL Taxis with little Nokias in their cradle.
