Windows Auto-closing.

How do I stop my windows Closing by themselves?

I left all 4 windows open about 1 inch today ,while we had a cuppa in Morrisons.

On returning to the Yeti the widows were closed.

Fortunately it wasn't hot and our Dog wasn't distressed.

It wasn't raining and I've left the windows ajar many times before, and they didn't close.

I'm rapidly Losing faith in all its smarty pant computers!:wonder:

Hopefully this would not happen whilst a child had itself or parts of itself partially hanging-out of a window, while you quickly bought a newspaper.emoticon-0120-doh.gif

Presumably it's a trip to the dealers to see if they can disable that function.

Very interested in how this has happened. I occasionally leave my dog in the car for brief periods, with windows down as you have. The windows have never closed by themselves, and I'd hate to think that they might. :S

They can only close themselves if you hold down the lock button or hold the key in the lock position in the door or if you have rain sensors it can close the windows.

- on the Superb, if you have auto wipers, you can set in the MFD to close windows when / if it rains.... i think....!

Maybe a light shower was had?

OK, I have rain sensors. These only work (on the move) if the wiper stalk is in the 'on' position. So is the sensor disabled when parked if I have remembered to turn the wipers off?

Must go and have another look at that MFD.

Definitely no rain at all.

I've just been out to the car .Opened the windows a bit.Locked the doors with the button as normal.

I,ve tried every combination of pressing open and closed buttons and they didn't close.

The only thing thing I achieved was all 4 windows opening fully(which I had read about).:dull:

Before locking the car with the windows down, try pushing the little button on the drivers door pillar (by the back of the drivers seat) where the seatbelt hangs down, this turns off the internal alarm sensors to prevent the dog setting off the alarm, might also prevent the windows going up?

Ah, yes. Now I always press that. Perhaps that's why I've not had this issue? I'm just worried for my dog that it might happen.

on P27 of Yeti Manual, it Say's..

"Rain Closing; On vehicles with rain sensor you can switch on or off the function for automatic closing of the windows and the sliding/tilting roof in case of rain and locked vehicle. If it is not raining and the function is set, the windows including the sliding/tilting roof are closed automatically after approx. 12 hours."

Altho... i have came back to my Superb, and couldnt get in - as the drivers seat was all the way forward, and fully up-right.... only once in a year mind....

Yes,I always press the button.(I forgot once and he set off the Alarm.)

If you keep the lock button pressed for more than 2 seconds than all windows close automatically. So maybe when you locked the car you kept it pressed a little longer?

Like someone earlier in the thread said: Untick the "RAIN CLOSE" box in the Maxi-Dot. and the windows will not auto close. :)

Consider it done.

We can relax over our Cuppas again, with out the worry of fried Springer.:whew:

I also noticed occasional closings of the windows last winter. I parked the car in a superstore garage and left the windows slightly open to dry the car while I was shopping, When I returned the windows were closed, and the inside of the car was as moist and cold as when I left... Happened a couple of times. No dog, no rain, no children in the car. Just x minutes of door locked and the windows closed.
