SMASHED DOOR MIRROR

Featured Replies

Some ****hole clipped the drivers door mirror this morning knocking the cover to the floor and smashing the indicator strip, they then proceeded to ****off without stopping or leaving any details. Luckily some kindly passerby noted the car type and reg number so off to report it tonight. Problem is now when I adjust the drivers mirror the passenger one moves as well, but when I move the passenger one the drivers one stays in place. Any idea's?

That's perfectly normal for them both to move when you adjust the drivers side. you have to get the drivers mirror where you want it then adjust the passenger side on it's own. I think all VAG group cars are the same. I have it on my Vrs and my T5 transporter

There is a feature in Maxidot that turns this off. But helpfully I can't remember what it is.

Yup, i'll just chip in to say it took me 6 months to notice that the left moved with the right, as naturally your attention is on the right hand mirror when you're adjusting it!

Mine's the same, it can be turned off with maxidot or VCDS.

Thanks guys never noticed this, just hope the boys in blue sort the driver for leaving the scene. If it had just been a scrape I would not have bothered but it made a hell of a bang so they knew they had done it especially leaving parts of the car in the road.

If the worst comes to the worst the lower half of the mirror with the indicator built-in is pretty cheap to replace, I got a replacement for ~£18 from a Skoda dealer when I damaged mine.

I had the same happen, I chased after the car and forced it to stop. The video is on youtube, search for car prang under my username M0bov.
