Anyone in the North East have or know someone with the VAG - COM software that could re-set the service interval indicator on my 96 Audi A4. It's driving me nuts...

Just out of interest aren't they like all VAG service indicators in as much as they can be reset without the VAG-COM tool. The procedure is in the handbook for our Fabia but i think you hold the mode button whilst turning the ignition on and then press the trip meter reset button (or something like that)

skomaz, a little while ago I did manage to track down the procedure on one of the Audi forums which is similar to what you say i.e. turn on ignition, press and hold reset button etc etc which I tried but to no avail. Even after several attempts I still had no joy. Turns out after some further investigation the earlier A4's (pre 98 I think) can't be reset in this manner and need the diagnostics tool / VAG-COM. Thanks anyway...

OK sorry about that. You could try Baheed on this site I think he has a VAG-COM but can't remember where he's based!

I'm sure I saw I procedure in the Octy handbook, have you checked yours ?

Will check to see if it's the same I downloaded off the Audi forum. If different it probably won't work but worth a try I suppose... Cheers
