high mileage vrs diesel worth buying?

Featured Replies

I do still keep coming back to looking at diesel vrs even though the injector thread is putting me off a bit.

I have seen alot of 100,00 mile plus models coming up now. I have had high mileage cars before and they can be a bargain.

I know of one around the corner with fsh and it looks mint and we ve had dealing s with the guy before.

Just wondering if anyone has any experience of buying higher mileage ones and whether they're worth it or not?

thanks

Whether it's worth it rather depends on the price.

Mines on 90k. Not really high mileage I know, but it feels wonderful. It feels much tighter than my previous car, a 105k miles Audi S4. Engine is smooth, economical and quiet. Powerful too.

I love the car. What spec and price is it?

the car has done about 110-120k and is just over £6k 57 plate

this seems to be the starting point for high milers and ranges anywhere upto £8 for similar cars

are they gonna be knackered?

Knackered? No, not at all! It's hardly old and that sort of mileage on a 2.0L diesel is nothing.

What spec is it? Any options? Estate or hatch?

Should be a good buy if it had a full history on a fixed schedule and would be very good if it had a dmf fitted recently.

what do you mean by fixed schedule?

Fixed is once a year, Variable is anything up to 20,000 or 2 years.

hatch not sure on spec yet or options didnt want to waste his time unless i was sure before viewing

i know it has 18" alloys are these std?

it has cruise which i presume is std? other than i dont know yet

what options/spec should i look out for?

Cimate control, rear electric windows, maxidot computer, xenons, parking sensors, jumbo box centre arm rest etc. All are quite sought after.
