OEM Parking Sensors

Featured Replies

Hi all, I bought an OEM rear parking sensor kit. Loom, sensors and control module all included for a full OPS set up. I have spotted on here before that the sensors have 'holder' and they appear to be recessed slightly back in to the bumper. Mine look like this: sensor

Am I missing the 'collar'that sits around the sensor? (sorry cant seem to laod a photo on to the site)

They look about the same as the ones I have on my 2008 Octy vRS.

If they look exactly the same as the one on the link you posted then yes you are missing the collar.

Thanks for the reply. Any one know the part code for the collar? My car has a set of the skoda/cobra dealer fit rear sensors but I am planing on removing these and fitting the OEM sensors to enable OPS and muting of the Columbus when reverse is engaged. I will be using the existing holes in the bumper.

I'm not 100% on this, but I've seen a lot of Skoda Octavias that don't have the collar - they just have the sensor fitted flush with the bumper and a small black rubber seal between the two (similar to the BMW ones which seem quite common).

I think that most of the Ocativias I have seen have been FL versions, but again not certain.

I have bought a genuine Skoda kit (front and rear sensors) that I am about to retro-fit on my pre-FL estate, and I hope that they don't need collars 1) because I don't have them and 2) I think they look better without.

I'm going off this document (in Spanish & large PDF so may take time to load - any translators on Briskoda?) as it is the only instructions I can find at the moment. It shows the sensors that I have (and OP) with no collar.

Anyone else have any thoughts?

Parking sensors on the FL's are non-collar

Non FL's indeed have a collar

Although, I have now just found this thread on Briskoda with the collars!

Confused now...

Parking sensors on the FL's are non-collar

Do pre-FL's have to have the collar if they have a rubber seal around them? Will they sit flush with the bumper without the collar?

Had a conversation with knowledgeable dealer over the phone today and he assures me that only pre-FL factory fitted sensors had the collar and that the OEM retro-fit kits are fitted without collar.

See my post on this forum for more info.

Good news for me, as I get the look I was hoping for and don't have to spend any more money (although there are some brackets with collars on eBay at the moment if anyone is in need of them.
