What is the expected 0-60 and Top speed after a remap?

Featured Replies

So the new 2.0 TSI engine maps well and you can expect to get somewhere in the region of 250 - 260bhp from a stage 1.

Out of interest, does anyone know what such a remap does to the quoted 0-60 and top speeds?

Just totally out of interest.

Indeed. I have friends who have had the remap.

Factory says a standard petrol vRS will do 0-60 in 7.3secs

I find this a little inaccurate. I have had 6.8secs from a standard 2008 TFSi petrol a couple of years ago.

With a re-map and pumping 255BHP, I would estimate the 0-60 somewhere in the region of 6.3-6.5seconds.

This is dependant on a good driving style designed for sprint starts of course. :)

I suppose just look at those Golf (mkj 5) platformed cars that do have 260/265 hp which I think is low to mid 6s if the conditions are pefect to do this which is why you see that those cars with rear wheel or 4 wheel drive actual achieve better 0-60s with the similar power as spinning up is moer and more of a problems as you get towards 250-300 hp on a front wheel only drive car.

As to top speed I was surprised how low geared our TSI VRS is ie 25 mph/1000 (compared to 29 mph for my 1.8 TSI DSG). So at 6500 rpm you would be doing 163 mph, plenty of examples of petrol VRS nearing geniune 170 mph where they are turning about 6800 rpm on You tube etc verified by GPS photos/video.

I hope, like many others, Skoda bring out a 4 wheel drive VRS with the 265 hp or better unit other than that it has to be an S3 or the like but they are not good value new.
