Looking to get roof bars for my new Fabia estate. Skoda ones are about £160 I think. Seems a bit steep. Has anyone bought and fitted alternative roof bars to their Fabia? One possible problem might be the relatively narrow width of the Fabia.

Thule make the Skoda ones so may be worth seeing if they are a bit cheaper.

They worked fine with our roofbox and are good quality.

Take a look at mont blanc ready fit 20. Good quality, easy fit and lockable.

Skoda sweden sell these as rebranded original parts...

Over the last twenty years I've had manufacturers bars, halfords bars, thule aero bars and rapid fit system and some cheap ebay specials. My Passat is my 29th car in 25 years.

Manufacturers bars are often the neatest but expensive, Thule are popular but they can look very aftermarket in my opinion as they are made to fit too many vehicles and you end up with things not looking flush.

I stumbled across Atera bars a few years ago, the are German, made to fit the vehicle and they make oem bars for the likes of Audi, BMW, Merc and VW. They are very high quality, very easy to fit and cheaper than most alloy bars. You don't have to build them from a kit and they are low profile to reduce wind noise.
