Just coming up to the 18,000 mile point and the first service is looming. Had a quote from one local dealer of £280 (which included the pollen filter being replaced) - I'm assuming that was VAT inclusive price though I didn't ask.

Anyone else been through their first service with a CR vRS recently. How much did you pay? Did you need the pollen filter replaced at that stage?

Yes I did need the pollen filter which was "on back order" and not fitted right away, and they charged me around £175 for the service. The pollen filter was a bit like a VAG diesel engine and turned up eventually !

£280!!

I would have thought more the £150 mark. after all it is just an oil change and an a4 page of boxes to tick.

I for one won't be paying that much and will get an indy to do it if quotes are coming out at that much.

Take your own oil and you will save a fortune

Just got ours done a couple of weeks ago at Skoda dealer in Stirling - approx 18,500 miles - £184 but unsure if the pollen filter was changed.

£280 seems a bit steep to me - I would get a quote from another dealer.

How much? My first variable was last November and it cost me £183 and i thought that was a bit steep. I've just booked the car in for the second variable service (due in a couple of weeks) and estimated cost is in the £200 region

It's the DSG oil change at 40K that's annoyed me, whoever thought putting the oil plug on the TOP of the casing meaning some special equipment is needed to change the oil... Been quoted £160 for that...
