1.6 TSI - where is it from to get homologation?

To be used soon in IRC, WTCC and WRC -spec?

I thought you usually have to have made a thousand or so production models before you could use in rallying, touring car etc?

Maybe in China or US/Mexico as I have not heard of it in VAG Europe?

SunRed to use it at Hungary WTCC event in the Leon it is planned for apparently in early June.

I presume you meant who issues the Homologation?

It is issued by the FIA and it depends on what class you wish to homologate the vehicle, and for what type of motorsport.

I thought he meant where is the engine used, as they need x road going ones to get it passed. That said, I thought that was cars only, not engines, but I don't know.

WRC engines no longer need to be based on a road car engine.

Skoda Fabia 1.6T has already been testing as a test mule for the Polo WRC and from 1/1/2012 there will be a Fabia 1.6T in "S2000" spec.
