After taking my car in for an MOT this morning(no probs there) I spent some time chatting with sales.(The discussions were all without prejudice,off the record and the author of this thread will plead insanity if it causes problems)

Not really that controversial at all, but

1)Every man and his dog wants the diesel variants of the new octavia and they are now approaching problem levels in getting them(don't some of you know it )

2)The Fabia vRS is also selling like hotcakes but they reckon there is no problem with getting you what you want(they had plenty new ones there and a 54 plate with 4k miles up for

Anyone looking for new octavia diesel be prepared to wait.With delays with the engines' date='Audi get them first,then VW,then Skoda.Bloomin lovely car though

Did they happen to mention how long a wait there currently is on the 2L version - Im waiting on a factory built 2L diesel estate (went mad with the extras list) - as it wasnt officially avaialble until this month I recon I've got a long time to save up

3) They are still kept pretty much in the dark on the new vRS except for what we tell dealers about spec .It was suggested it won't be in the showrooms till early 2006

Sorry,I didn't ask the actual delay periods.The poor guy was a bit stressed ringing around trying to get cars and I don't think I was helping chatting to him!

Surely he was talking about the Octy vRS? Seeing as how there's a new Octy released with no vRS in the range, and the Fabia has just been facelifted...
