Mods I can get away with under hire contract

Featured Replies

Hi

I've had an Octavia vRS for 6 months that I 'bought' new. It's actually under a hire contract with Skoda where I pay a monthly sum for 3 years and then give them the car back after that period.

Under the contract you're supposed to tell them if you want to modify it in any way, like towbars etc and that's OK as long as it goes back to them just as it was when you got it. I can't imagine for one minute that if I rang them up and said I wanted to remap it they'd be too happy as they have to sell it on after the hire period.

So I'm wondering about doing things that I could swap now and replace later, such as dump valves, exhausts, etc etc. Would it really be worth it and has anyone had experience of this with this way of 'buying' and temporarily modding a car?

Im on the same kinf o system and currently have done a boot install, revo'd, new HU, will be doing much much more also and they said it was ok!
