a few questions I have with my 2004 fabia vrs

Featured Replies

hi all, I have a few questions in about my little fabia..

1. I have a warning light on pops up on my dash and beeps at lowish speeds... and it's a bulb light. it's got the xenons HiD headlights and I've replaced one of the bulbs that went. with a £58 bulb frommy local autostores, but alas still makes the noise and pops up. no other bulbs that I can see have gone.. any ideas?

2. has anyone tried fitting a set of lenso bsx 15's on a vrs? if so was there any clearance issues?

3. has anyone fitted a set of fk street coilovers to a fabia vrs, if so are the they good for an entry level coilover?

4. seat cupra r front splitter? is there anywhere I can buy a brand new one?

5. routing a amp power cable through the firewall? any ideas of an easy route?

if anyone can help out a poor little newbie.. I'd be appreciated!

thanks,

4. seat cupra r front splitter? is there anywhere I can buy a brand new one?

- Best place is from SEAT directly, a quick search will provide you with the part no. I got mine for about £35 iirc

5. routing a amp power cable through the firewall? any ideas of an easy route?

- It can be routed through a grommet on the passenger side of the firewall, no doubt somebody could provide a picture to show you.

Afraid thats all I have answers for hope it helps

For the splitter go to.....wait for it....... Local seat dealer :)

Power cable is simple enough. Passenger side underbeathe the plastic panel at the bottom if the window. Theirs a gromit that pops out behind the glove box.

The bulb light could be a fault from a LED bulb? Or possibly a loose connection?

2. You shouldn't have any problems with 15's providing there not stupidly wide etc but they will look tiny on the fabia ?

3. A few people use FK coilovers IIRC, I haven't used them personally so can't comment but the most popular seems to be weitec, KW, and AP's

4. Seat dealer for the splitter

5. There is a grommet in the bulkhead on passengers side and it's easier to take the glovebox out to get access to it.

Hope that helps

ok thanks guys.. I'll order the splitter from my local seat dealer. are they difficult to fit?

the bulb issue I might take it to the garage as I don't want to keep replacing stuff to hopefully fix said problem. because it could become quite costly.

Im fully aware that running 15's will look tiny but it'll help get it low.

in regards to this grommet behind the glove box does anyone have a picture to help me locate by any chance!

thanks guys.

There is a fitting guide on here for the splittler. Easy if you take the bumper off, 5 min job the a further 20-30 mins lining the splitter up, trimming it and fixing it.

Wicked I'll have a look for the fitting guide when it arrives.

I posted a picture of the passenger side glove box grommet not so long back.... err....

Not brilliant, but should give you a rough idea of where it is. Probably easier to feed it from outside to inside anyway, and it should be obvious where it comes through from inside once you have the glovebox off :)

The bulb warning.

Systematically check all your bulbs, Replace any that are blackened!

I got the bulb warning after renewing my brake light bulbs with some dodgy halfords sourced Bosch bulbs.

Which I subsequently replaced with Osram jobbies! No further problems.

Littlejohnny got the bulb warning with a blown headlight bulb.

So it would appear the warning could relate to any of the bulbs!

ok systematically checking/replacing all bulbs is the way forward.
