Aircon serviced yesterday

Featured Replies

I had my aircon serviced yesterday at the Skoda dealership. It a automated system that they hook the car up to. All went well. The gas was low at 147ml compared to the 530ml or so that should be normally in it.

Anyway the aircon was working well before the service and the system was pressure tested for leaks (none found). It was working on the way home, but today it wasn't working, no cold air.

The compressor is working but I did notice two things. One being the main engine fans seem to be running flat out when I stop the car until I turn off the ignition. Secondly while the climatroic is turned on in auto and I go to adjust the temperature if I adjust it between 20 and 26 degrees the green lights above the fan showing the fan speed does not move. It does when moved further. This normally varys when adjusting in order to get the temperature up or down.

I'll be on to the garage in the morning but do you think the gas has leaked? Or something else?

Cheers

Seems odd, i know with my car the compressor is dying, they seem to give trouble.

I got it sorted yesterday. The issue was the machine that does the air con service made a mistake and over filled the system with coolant. Instead of putting 530ml of gas in it put just over 700 ml of gas. The car pickled up on this and kept tripping out the aircon pump. The machine have a choice of 3 pumps (different manufacturers) to chose from and the garage use the first on the list that always works, but for some reason it didn't work on my car, Anyway ask sorted now. At least it I font ned a new compressor P.S the garage where very helpful Pilsen Skoda

Cheers
