How long is your Fabia?

Featured Replies

Just managed to get some 8-foot long planks into the Furby this weekend, they were resting on the inside of the rear light cluster and literally had less than a cm of clearance with respect to the windscreen. Drove very gingerly!

Yeh thats the max inside a Fabia but I have carried 5Metre lengths of Torus skirting in mine with the front passenger window & Hatch open. The skirting did flop around a bit but only had to drive 1/2mile and watch out for cyclists.

Best is to remove rear passenger side base and headrest, then fold down. Then put front passenger seat "flat"..then you can get a very long plank from the front footwell (bulkhead) right to the inside of the hatch!!! B)

Also allot safer!!!!

Safer, yes, but only 3metre lengths accomodated.

Yes....BUT....you can leave longer lengths hanging out the back!!!! And to tie the hatch down is easy!! I have a U shackle which is the same bar size as the catch bar on the lock. I shove this into the lock on the hatch thus activating the lock as normal! I then tie 6mm dia mountaineering cord (very strong, over 700kg break strength) through this U shackle and through another shackle which is fixed to the striker bar on the body. This works very well...have used it many a time and to release all you do is use the handle on the hatch to unlock as per normal!!! B)

How come you spend so much time on Briskoda? I thought you was a very, very busy self employed guy :smirk:

Well at this time of year trade goes "off" a bit..but this year is worse....same for a few others in this sector. I just sign in when I fire the computer up....doesn't mean that I'm just sat here staring at screen!! At this precise moment I am taking a quick break from cleaning a big glass cabinet full of around 60 Victorinox knives!!! So I am still at work "after hours" :p B)

You should be down the Pub.

Pub???? what's one of those????? Not been inside one for over 11years!!! Don't drink much either....and if I do it's a bottle of Badger or Innes & Gunn with my dinner!!! Of home now!!! B)

So 8 foot lengths should fit fine @ 2.4 metres? Its the way I would go with that length anyway. Oh, and have some serious wadding, rags whatever, on the back. :D
