2EHN Cetane Improver instead of Millers

Featured Replies

Just been having a read of the thread below regarding replacing Millers with a 2EHN cetane improver.

Im just wandering how many people have tried this and what the general opinion was. I think Millers is a required product for a VRS but if i can get the same thing for much cheaper im all for it.

Cheers mate, yeah same thread lol.

Just looking for a few peoples opinions on whether to change or the outcome if they did change.

And it was me that posted the link in the 'Too much Millers' thread - thought it seemed familiar :)

Found another (short) thread:

I am also quite interested in this, perhaps technical question or two though:

Millers use kerosene (apparently) to dilute the concentration, is this purely for profit reasons or is there any other benefits on using kerosene?

Also, I can quite happily keep millers in the car (minus the constant leaking!) without it catching on fire or exploding. What about this Veggieboost (2EHN) stuff? :S

Quantity ratio if your adding to diesel is apparently 1ml:1 ltr.

So putting ~40ml of this stuff is enough, hmm.. Think this stuff isn't too safe to live in the car..

Edit 2.0:

With regards to keeping this in the car.. I was thinking calpol/medicine bottle.. easy to manage 100/150ml, uv block type chemical bottles? wont do a movie type explosion if it went off (least I hope not).

diesel itself is made of kerosene so the kerosene is nothing to worry about

Ohh, kool, lol so they're just selling me expensive diesel additive mix? Pfft..

Learn something new everyday, thanks! (am noob when it comes to chemistry)

The 2hen can be bought and needs the.smallest amount for a tank so I can only imagine how little is in the millers lol altho the millers has other.addititives for keeping everything lubed, pump, valves etc so.its.pretty handy as an all.in one instead of geting everything separate lol

Question is.. how does such a tiny amount spread its way through the whole diesel in the tank.

It surely cant spread out evenly through the liquid?

That is very true..

Millers at £1.05 per tank vs Veggiboost at £0.70 per tank doesn't seem that appealing any more now! I may give it a go anyway since my bottle of millers is on its last shot.

ya give it a squirt prior filling up :D

Miller's contains 20% 2EHN. I.e. 10ml per shot/tank.

At the same concentration, 1l of Vegiboost would last 100 tanks. I.e. 15p per shot/tank

Actually mine has started smoking a little recently - off to get some Miller's later............
