Performance air filter/element?

Featured Replies

Does anyone use K & N or pipercross air filters/elements on here? I just wanted to know if they were worth the extra money? Do they improve anything noticably? I was looking on ebay and smaller VAG cars all see to use the same one along with the 5.7-6.0L cadillac CTS! (Dunno if this would use 2??) Surely if the air filter has a good enough air flow for a daft big engine like the caddys there wouldnt be much point in getting one for my relatively small diesel? Opinions??

It's been well discussed before but the end result always seems to be on a diesel you will see no gains over a new OE filter, as an OE filter will filter more air than the engine can use anyway.

beg to differ. go k&n.

I used to use a k n replacement element on my old volvo and i have to say in terms of power on the throttle and fuel consumption I did notice the difference. Mind you i never did a particularly scientific comparison.

As said above, the standard setup will flow more than enough for the engine, no point in spending money on a K&N or Pipercross.

^^ i agree with lord chela above.. my pickup makes 130bhp with the bog standard airbox and filter
