vrs throttle body

Featured Replies

Hi guys,i have a quick question regarding the throttle body on my car, what i would like to know is can the small vacuum pipe to the top of the throttle body be removed? or if not re located elsewhere on the inlet manifold? the reason been is that late last year i raised the engine in the bay using spacing blocks under the engine mounts for clearance under the car and as a result the brass right angle coming off the top of the throttle body rubs on the underside of the bonnet when the engine moves which has put a small dent in my bonnet which i will repair once i've resolved my issue,so if this pipe can be removed or re-located elsewhere without any running issues i will just take the throttle body off and remove the brass right angle and cap it off but if not i'll have to try something else

I would have thought so. You can probably tap a new thread into the inlet manifold and put it there. It actually splits before it gets to the throttle body anyway and one goes to the turbo inlet, so it would probably be OK blocked off permanently.

It does carry fuel vapour though, so don't just vent it to atmosphere.
